Great engine, good on gas, horrible suspension
By Leland | on Thursday, August 15, 2019
Pros I've never had a problem with the engine it's always started right up, it's got great gas mileage. Interior is pretty basic, lots of cheap plastic. Stock sound system is loud and clear, some of the best stock sound I've heard. Cargo space. So much cargo space. I moved an entire one bedroom apartment in this car with the backseats down. Cons The real downfall of this car is the suspension. 40k miles I've put on this car and the suspension just gets worse and worse. I've replaced the front subframe, which had a nhtsa recall. The back end alignment is so bad I need new tires every 2 weeks and it's non adjustable by factory. $2000 to fix it? No thanks I'll just get a new car. And the fusebox went out so no horn, no left low beam or running light and cigarette lighters went out. $1000 to replace that. This car is a money pit and it's a real shame because the engine is so reliable, if only the suspension was half decent this car would actually hold it's value.… - 1.0
:(
By Sarafinn | on Wednesday, May 31, 2017
This car is the absolute worst. The ONLY good thing about it is that it is comfortable to sit in. Within 3 months of buying it I had to replace both control arms and ball joints, I had this car for 6 years and had to have this SAME repair done an additional 3 times. The door bolt and spring on the drivers side fell out after that. Ive had to replace the struts 2xs. After regular repair and maintenance I was driving it home last week and at an intersection the entire front frame collapsed. I only finished paying this car off in January.… - 4.0
love it

I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who needs space, comfort, versatility and like a vehicle that looks great. I love my Caliber. I bought it in a blizzard so I got to test the quality of the AWD system. I was impressed as soon as I got behind the wheel. I no longer "white-knuckle" on my hour drive to and from work everyday. No matter what the weather, I feel safe. That is what is most important to me, not to meant you can't beat the price.…
